This is film music on a grand scale. The Overture sets
the dramatic scene of intrigue and pathos. The pomp and circumstance of Caesar's
Triumphant Return to Rome laden with plunder and concubines after his
military conquests abroad, is vividly depicted in a cue palkling with
brilliantly orchestrated music. In contrast Portia's Theme is one of
exquisite beauty.
